My apologies to the family for the mistake in the newsletter yesterday, Arla and Dee's son that passed away in 1961 was Robert not Ricky.

Brandi Pritchard (Wright): Mr. Copeland was such a sweetheart and will me dearly missed. Even at his age he still found time to open doors for ladies and simply ask how you were. His kindness will truly be missed!! (02/26/09)

Open Letter from Reeda Cay Smith


Dear Fellow Alumni,
 
Many of you have asked how you can help since the school burned.  We now have a fund set up that you can contribute to.  It is the LHS Alumni Relief Fund.  There will be a committee of ex-students that will decide how the funds need to be disbursed, unless you specify exactly what you would like your contribution to go for.  If you know for sure, for example, that you would like it to be used only for the teachers, then that is how it will be disbursed.  We will do our best to take care of the greatest need first always.

LHS Alumni Blog

Welcome to the new LHS Alumni Blog. I must apologize for the lack of information over the last several weeks, but things have been just a little hectic since Jan. 11-12.

That is one of the reasons I wanted to try doing a blog instead of a monthly newsletter because over the next several months, things will be happening quite often. Also, I felt that this would be less intrusive to everyone since you can check it at your leisure and I can post to it at anytime.

Congratulations to the following:
Danny and Kim (Spencer) Lambert on 30 years of marriage as of Nov. 8, 2008!

Clint and Leslianne (Hickerson) Emery on the birth of their son, Slade Pittman, on Dec. 3, 2008. 9lbs, 6oz and 21 inches!

Susy Saul: Hello Mr. Keaton, I just wanted to add something to your blog. Some of the LHS folks may not know this but my daddy, Bobby Pinner, passed away December 17, 2008. He fought a long hard battle against a very tough illness. He was born and raised in Lockney and attended Lockney schools. He lived and worked in Lockney most of his life. He had many friends in Lockney and I am sure those that havnt heard yet would want to know of his passing.. Dad was 66 years old and leaves behind our mom, Glenda, and my sister, Missy Minick who still lives in Lockney, myself, and 7 grand children, 1 great grandaughter and one great grandchild on the way.
